The Grand Rapids Art Museum is located in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. The building is architecturally beautiful and can make for an elegant and upscale wedding. The ceremony and reception can both be held right on site and there are plenty of hotels within walking distance for out of town guests to stay at.
Anwuli and Patrick's GRAM wedding is on Martha Stewart Weddings HERE.
The GRAM has a lovely outdoor area for ceremonies (called Pocket Park). The backdrop is a flowing water wall and pool and the way the area is contained amidst the exterior architecture makes for a unique and intimate wedding experience.
Receptions take place in the main lobby of the museum with a glass stairway and a lot of floor to ceiling windows. There's plenty of beautiful natural light coming in and a view of the courtyard pool that leads to the water wall.
Later night dancing is usually held in the auditorium with plenty of space for a band to set up and play.

The grounds of the GRAM make for great portraits and there is no need to travel anywhere else, but if you want a different backdrop or just want to add in a different stop on your wedding day, there are dozens of great places (a lot within walking distance) to go to.
