Grand Rapids Michigan Wedding Photographer

I’m Kelly Sweet, a wedding photographer based in West Michigan, photographing weddings in Grand Rapids and throughout the state of Michigan. With nearly two decades of experience, I approach each wedding day with a calm, thoughtful presence and an editorial eye, creating images that feel natural, refined, and enduring.

My work blends fine art film photography with film-inspired digital photography, allowing me to capture weddings with soft, true-to-color tones and an emphasis on honest moments. Whether your celebration is held at an iconic Grand Rapids venue or an intimate setting nearby, my focus is on telling your story in a way that feels effortless and timeless.

I photograph weddings for couples who value meaningful details, emotional connection, and imagery that will feel just as beautiful decades from now as it does today.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to photograph weddings at some of Grand Rapids and West Michigan’s most beloved venues, including Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, Venue3Two, Grand Rapids Art Museum, and Downtown Market Grand Rapids, as well as smaller, intimate venues and private estates throughout the region. This local experience allows me to work confidently and calmly on wedding days, anticipating moments and light as they unfold.

A. I photograph weddings using a thoughtful blend of fine art film and digital photography. How much of each depends on the wedding venue, the couple's Collection choice, and the lighting on the wedding day. Film allows for soft, true-to-color imagery with a timeless quality, while digital coverage ensures flexibility and consistency throughout the day. All digital images are processed to match the true-to-color style of the film.
