wedding FAQ's

Q. Do we get the rights to print our own photos?
A. Absolutely, all my wedding packages come with edited, printable files with printing rights. I take great care in personally editing each individual image before it goes int0 your gallery.

Q. How long does it take to get our photos back?
A. Portrait and engagement sessions take 4-6 weeks to turn around. Weddings differ depending on the time of year your wedding takes place. Spring and early summer weddings take 4-8 weeks and late summer and autumn weddings take 8-12 weeks. During this time, I will be posting sneak peaks on social media and I'm happy to supply images for a thank you card if you are wanting to get those out before you receive your full gallery.

Q. How long have you been photographing weddings?
A. Oh boy, this is going to make me feel old, but I've been doing this full time for over 15 years. If I had to guess, I would say I have photographed close to 500 weddings.

Q. Do you bring an assistant or second photographer?
A. Most of my packages come with a second photographer. If you choose a package that doesn't, I will have an assistant with me to help the day flow smoothly.

Q. Do you add sales tax on to your packages?
A. I live in the state of Michigan so if you also live there and are getting married there, your package is subject to MI 6% sales tax. If you live outside of the state (regardless of where your wedding is taking place), no sales tax will be added on. If your wedding is taking place outside of Michigan, no sales tax will be added on.

Q. Do you shoot with film or digital?
A. Most portrait sessions are shot on film and weddings are a mix of film and digital. I prefer the look of film so use that as much as I can, but always have my digital camera's along for low light or fast moving situations.

Q. What do you mean by film?
A. I'm not talking about video. Film is the old stuff that was around before digital took over. It has made a comeback in the last several years as more and more photographers are realizing the quality of film far surpasses the quality of digital. I love the soft, romantic, ethereal look I can get with film, especially for photographing weddings.

Q. What if you get sick on my wedding day?
A. Well, I will be there anyway, of course. If something catastrophic happens and I'm unable to attend, I have a network of experienced wedding photographers I will call upon to find someone amazing to take my place.

Q. Do you have insurance?
 A. Most definitely. I'm fully covered with both liability and equipment insurance.

Q. Do you charge for travel?
A. Overseas destination wedding packages are custom built, with travel figured into the quote you receive. Travel for weddings in the United States may be added on to the package if I need to spend a night/nights in a hotel. If applicable, you will receive a quote for travel fees. No hidden travel fees are ever added on beyond the quote.
